MIL-CD is the name given to the Dreamcast format for loading code from a CD-ROM or CD-R. There were eight official MIL-CD releases, distributed in Japan only, all of which were audio music CDs containing extra audiovisual content when loaded in a Dreamcast console. This format was reverse engineered by the community to load homebrew code and pirated software, as well as create independent, unofficial commercial game releases.
